The Geography of a Recession

According to the U.S. Department of Labor's Bureau of Labor Statistics, there are more than 31 million people currently unemployed -- that's including those involuntarily working part time and those who want a job, but have given up on trying to find one. In the face of the worst economic upheaval since the Great Depression, millions of American are hurting. The above interactive map serves as a vivid representation of just how much. US Says Bankruptcies Reach Nearly 5 year high

U.S. bankruptcy filings have reached the highest level since 2005, government data released on Tuesday show, as the economy slows and the unemployment rate hovers just below double digits. There were 422,061 bankruptcy filings between April and June, according to the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts, up 9 percent from 388,148 in the prior three-month period, and up 11 percent from 381,073 a year earlier.

For the year ended June 30, there were 1.57 million bankruptcies, up 20 percent from 1.31 million a year earlier. Consumer bankruptcies rose 21 percent to 1.51 million, and business bankruptcies rose 9 percent to 59,608.

There should be no mosque at ground zero! Period

Muslims around the world see the ground zero mosque debate raging in the U.S. as a litmus test of American tolerance, and generally appreciate President Obama's involvement. In Indonesia, which has the world's largest Muslim population, Mr. Obama has won praise from commentators for his support for Muslims' right to build a place of worship where they like. In the U.S., the issue continues to leave politicians twisting, including House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, California Democrat.

After saying Tuesday that there was "a concerted effort to make this a political issue" and that she supported "looking into" how those opposed to the mosque are being funded, Mrs. Pelosi on Wednesday said backers of the mosque and community center also should be vetted.

A Commentary on the News of the Day

a path of self destruction ! There seems to be no one with a sense of sobriety concerning the push to accept Islam into the American fabric.

 

Even though Islams leaders have stated there hatred for the west, primarily the USA, our government continues to court this dangerous entity under the liberty. Of the 22 Arab nations there is not one that is a democracy.

 

They will not allow a church to be built in Saudi Arabia, yet the Saudi's will do everything to fund a gigantic mosque in the heart of the 9/11 's Islamic terror attack on our nation.

 

I can only come up with one scenario

Look who is pushing Israel into war...

The Obama administration gave Russia permission to deliver the fuel rods for Iran’s Bushehr nuclear reactor in return for their support for U.N. sanctions. The Russians have announced they will begin the process on August 21 and Iran will begin operating the reactor in mid-September. In making this concession to Russia, the U.S. is forcing Israel to decide within one week if they will bomb the site before it is impossible to do so because of the radioactive fallout it would cause. Get this straight, the US will pay for this big time, judgement is coming and its heading right to our country because of its corupt leadership.IS. 26:9

The Call in Sacramento on Sept. 3-4th

Ten years ago, four hundred thousand primarily young people, the consecrated ones, the Nazirites, gathered to the Mall in D.C. to fast and pray for America. Now, ten years later, the stakes couldn’t be higher. Seismic political, economic, and societal shifts are drastically reshaping California, every state, and the nation. This is the time for a great spiritual outpouring to be unleashed to meet the demand of these times.

God’s prescription in the day of trouble is to regather the consecrated ones to the place of the covenant, the cross, not just to be blessed, but to rend our hearts and call upon God. In that place of united fasting and prayer, God promises to release deliverance and help.

Therefore, we are again summoning thousands of young and old—those who have been marked by TheCall's solemn assemblies and those whose hearts burn for their generation—to gather in Sacramento as consecrated, intercessory representatives from, and on behalf of, California and every state to "altar" their lives, "altar" their states, and "altar" the nation.
